Vancouver Island reporter Ethan Morneau joins Victoria Buzz in Victoria, BC, as Senior Staff Writer with a focus on news stories impacting the capital region.
Kicking off 2021, Ethan was awarded a Jack Webster Professional Fellowship—an honour helping him hone his investigative journalism skills through the Florida-based Poynter Institute.
Previously, listeners heard Ethan on the airwaves in Campbell River, BC, where he worked as News Anchor, Reporter and On-Air Host at Vista Radio’s 99.7 The River. He simultaneously anchored stations in Port Hardy, Powell River and Comox Valley.
Born and raised in Niagara, Ont., Ethan Morneau is a graduate of Niagara College’s broadcasting program with a Readers Choice award-winning design and photography background. As a child, he grew an extensive actor resume starring in numerous short films and TV commercials.

One man was rushed to hospital in critical condition, following a Friday morning fire at a downtown Victoria high-rise apartment complex. The Victoria Fire Department was called to View Towers on Quadra Street at around 11:30 a.m. to find gray smoke billowing from the windows of a unit located ten floors up. |

As a doctor shortage plagues southern Vancouver Island, it may be no surprise that Victoria is seeing the longest walk-in clinic wait times in Canada. That’s according to tech company Medimap, as it points to its recently released walk-in clinic wait time index--using 2021 data collected from more than 1,200 clinics across the country. |
